Instructor: Yura Adams of IS183 Art School of the Berkshires
Portraiture on view in the Clark galleries is the inspiration for this one-week course. Students will be guided during visits to the museum to identify poses, lighting, and interpretive ideas to take back to the studio, where they will work with live models and photographs to create their own portraiture studies. Different media will be explored throughout the week, beginning with basic portraiture techniques in graphite. As the week progresses, watercolor washes, pastels, and collage techniques will be introduced, building towards a mixed media color portrait. Recommended for ages 15+
Tuition: $225 ($195 Clark, IS183 members) plus $85 model and materials fee
