Junior Accountant

The Clark Art Institute seeks an energetic, detailed, and well organized individual to serve as a Junior Accountant. The Clark, an art museum and center for research and graduate study, is located in the Northern Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. This full-time regular position has an excellent benefits package.  
 
Duties include:
- Processing internal payroll including filing of payroll taxes, benefits, and journal entries under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor & Payroll Manager. 
- Administering all fixed assets including asset additions, disposals, capital-in-progress, monthly depreciation entries, and reconciliation with the general ledger. 
- Processing of accounts receivable, employee expense reports, corporate credit cards, and reconciliation of associated accounts receivable accounts. 
- Providing financial analyses and reports to department managers and their staff, as requested. 
- Performing periodic reviews of departmental revenue and expense activity for accuracy and completeness, and preparing reclassification entries. 
- Providing back-up coverage for the Accounting Clerk as needed.
 
The ideal candidate has an associate’s degree in a related field and 4-5 years accounting experience. Must be able to multitask, be technically proficient, and have expertise in databases, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
