Free Admission All Day

For Immediate Release
July 14, 2015

Williamstown, MA—The Clark Art Institute’s popular Family Day returns Sunday, July 26 from 11 am–4 pm. Admission and all activities are free.

Family Day celebrates the exhibition Van Gogh and Nature, on view at the Clark through September 13. Activities for all ages include making a terrarium, butterfly house, and sunflowers; drawing with various materials; participating in a group mural of Starry Night; and exploring a live butterfly tent. Visitors can also peruse a Provence-inspired flower market and watch a demonstration of plein air painting.

In a nod to the outdoor installation Thomas Schütte: Crystal, try navigating a mirror maze—or pay homage to Whistler’s Mother by posing like the subject of the famous portrait.

The jazz band Kris Allen Quartet performs at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, and Berkshire Dance Theater performs at 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. Food will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors, including Hot Tomatoes Pizza, Starr Crêperie, Starr Grill, A-Frame Bakery, and Lickety Split Ice Cream.

This program is supported by funding from the officers and employees of Allen & Company, Inc.
